Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA): 5 Days
Under the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations, 2007 (S.I. No. 288 of 2007) implement Council Directive 95/35/EC of 3 June, 1996, it is compulsory for companies, which transports dangerous goods (and other organisations involved in transport related activities) to have appointed a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor/s.
Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors are required to perform specific functions, to include advising the organisations, who appointed them, in matters of health, safety and environment related to the transportation of dangerous goods. They are also required to prepare the mandatory related reports.
To be appointed as a safety adviser a valid vocational training certificate, allied to the modes of transport used by the company is mandatory to all dangerous goods or one or more of the groups of dangerous goods specified and transported by the company.
